Calling all campers ages 8 - 14! Ever wonder how the big Minecraft multiplayer servers and mini-games are designed?
Collaboration and creative build skills are important, but server designers also use plugins like WorldEdit to craft massive, detailed builds. WorldEdit is an in-game map editor that server and mini-game designers use to create detailed, epic maps.
Game Design with WorldEdit takes young designers on MODA’s creative design server to learn the skills necessary to craft on a larger scale! Campers will work in design teams and use the design process to create a mini-game that they will test on other teams at the end of camp.
Campers will also have the opportunity to learn to use Tinkercad and MCEdit to add additional structures their maps. Experienced MODAcrafters will be given additional challenges including command blocks for game design.
This camp is recommended for Minecrafters with experience designing in the computer edition.
Campers will:
Learn and strengthen their use of the Design Process
Practice user-centered design
Innovate on current Minecraft trends
Practice sketching designs and rendering them digitally
Script code in the Minecraft command line
Advance their CAD skills on multiple platforms
Practice applying knowledge when learning new software
Enrolled in this camp before? No problem! We'll pick up where you left off so your camper can keep making and learning.
