Deniz Tek is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Grounded in late-60's Detroit rock and Australia based since the 70s, his career in music extends over four decades.
He is best known as a founding member and the main songwriter of the legendary, uncompromising Australian group RADIO BIRDMAN
and for exerting his burning Detroit style guitar influence over the punk rock genre in Australia.
Radio Birdman are considered to have been hugely influential over Australian Indie bands and instrumental in Australia's musical growth.
In 2007, Deniz, along with Radio Birdman, was inducted into the Australian Music Hall of Fame.
In 2013, he was named in the top ten of the 100 all-time greatest guitar players of Australia.
Besides Radio Birdman, Deniz has performed in many solo and group projects.
He has released scores of records and toured worldwide as a solo artist and in various bands.
Always remaining close to his roots, he has had many outstanding collaborations with some of the most iconic figures from his
home state of Michigan :
Deniz has performed with Iggy and the Stooges, DKT/MC5 and Sonics’ RendezVous Band and he has formed
bands such as New Race, Dodge Main and Powertrane with key members of all 3 of those Detroit greats.
