Texture dedicates itself to House Music in its complexity, appreciating it as a rhythmical and tonal framework that can be endlessly variegated, recomposed and repeated, still capturing a specific emotional response. Right there in between uncompromisingly raw grooves, pending melodies and playful excursions, intermingling aesthetics continuously recreate free space. That's where Texture wants to start its explorations, inviting fierce aficionados of the genre as well as all friends of a familiar, intense and loosed atmosphere to join the party.

The second issue of Texture concentrates on a new usage of old-school stylistics. DJ Haus and Arnaldo, two important protagonists of today’s House cosmos and both elaborated collectors, will give us some insights in how it could have been back then and what might come next. Certainly, however, they will give us a good idea of what’s happening right now. Jan Müller from Cologne and Ronaldson add their most beloved tunes to guarantee a great night.

DJ Haus’s releases and sets have a strong focus on a particular field of house music: straightforward party tracks, armed with a full-range old-school equipment and executed in an unmistakably fresh manner. The expansive output Rupert Cogan has delivered since his former project Hot City was left behind in 2012 features classic ghetto house, a sweeping blow of acidic jack rhythms, UK-built garage, rave bleeps and vivid breaks. Alongside his floorfilling productions, recently recapped on the Burnin’ Up LP, the Englishman’s dedicated work as head of the multi-faceted and highly prolific imprint Unknown to the Unknown has made him become well-known as one of the outstanding fellows of today’s house scene.

When listening to Arnaldo’s tracks, released on labels like Smallville, Gretta Cottage Workshop, Aim and others, one has to take good care of not being carried away to, well, somewhere out there. The distinctly subtle percussion and emotive framework feel light-footed, however they are always accompanied by a persuading and propulsive energy, exploring and expanding ideas of how magnetic deep house grooves can get. The Berlin based Argentinian transfers this concept into his sets, which highlight playful and absorbing rhythms, lush, funky basslines and enchanting vocals - yet are always prepared to release something very heavy-bottomed.
