GNYP Gallery is delighted to announce its first solo exhibition with the South African artist Alexandra Karakashian. The exhibition unfolding pause is on view from March 20th until April 24th, 2021.
Alexandra Karakashian was born in 1988 in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is currently based in Cape Town. She works mainly with paintings, or with sculptures and installations made from deconstructed, unframed paintings. Painted canvases and cloths are presented in surprising ways, sometimes unsupported, framed in reverse or transformed into a sculpture or installation.
In consideration of the current pandemic regulation the gallery reopens for the public from March 9th, 2021 by appointment and in compliance with the current distancing and hygiene regulations.
