Did you know “Lykke” is the danish word for happiness? And did you know that “Li” is a Chinese unit of distance, equivalent to half a kilometer?
The first of these statements is likely to be more relevant than the second at this month’s Lykke Li Pop Up night! We are offering you the chance to have 90 minutes of singing happiness, learning Lykke Li’s super boppy hit “I Follow Rivers”.
There will be silly warm ups so your voice will be ready to sing, even if you haven’t used it this way for a while.
There will be a rehearsal, where we’ll learn the whole of this fun song in 3 part harmonies. There are easier parts for people who normally only sing in the shower, and trickier parts for people who sing all the time, so anyone can join in!
Then, when it’s sounding amazing, we’ll pop out to the bar and sing it for the lucky patrons at our wonderful host venue, Birgit & Bier! This is our last Freiluft Pop Up for the year, so if you’ve been planning to come but haven’t made it yet this is your chance.
What could be more fun than having a big sing with a friendly group of 70 or so people on one of the last warm* nights of the year? We promise, you’ll be feeling very Lykke by the end of the night.
