Space Closng Fiesta - 2nd October 2016
In 1989, When Pepe Rosello, founder and owner of Space Ibiza, took the controls of Space Ibiza, it seemed crazy. Playa d'en Bossa —aimed to familiar tourism—, was far away from the nightlife established in other areas of the island.
That year, in Ibiza, the place where it all began, a new a definitive space was to be established for this purpose. It could only happen in a club which would offer —from its very conception- a different musical, sensorial, and even pararel dimension. A club in which dreams could be made real.
Ten years after its birth, Space Ibiza became a super club and the terrace was crucial for the year ’99, in which the English club “Home” negotiated with Pepe to take part in Space’s Sundays, the club strongest session. Thus, Sundays were about to turn into 22 hours marathons, from 8am on Sunday to 6am on Monday, offering an incredible day-night festival as never seen before on the island.
Over the years, the club has become the most awarded worldwide, receiving awards until this last year (Best Club in the World - DJ Mag 2016). Numerous clubbers, year after year, come religiously to Space. And It is well known that the season in Ibiza starts with the opening of the club, and similarly, the season on the island just ends when the club closes its doors.
It’s the moment
We have 27 years of unforgettable history, we agree that this has been a short time , but we know that these will live in the memory of all forever : the legendary Terrace, dancing during the day, raising arms under the roar of the aircraft, Carl Cox mind-blowing sets , Sundays at Space ... and each and every one of them always with MUSIC as a companion.
Well, it's time to celebrate the end of these 27 years. Some have dubbed this phenomenon as "the end of an era", but we prefer to talk about new beginnings and new horizons, because what is clear is that the Legend starts here:

En 1989, cuando Pepe Roselló —fundador y dueño de Space Ibiza—, tomó los mandos de Space Ibiza, aquello parecía de locos. La zona de Playa d’en Bossa de entonces, destinada a turismo familiar, se alejaba mucho del ocio nocturno establecido en otras zonas de la isla.
Pero ese año, en Ibiza —el lugar donde todo empezó—, iba a establecerse el espacio nuevo y definitivo para ello: solamente podía suceder en un club que, desde su inmediata concepción, iba a ofrecer una dimensión diferente, musical, sensorial, incluso horaria, en la que ese sueño pudiera entenderse como real.
Diez años después de su nacimiento, Space Ibiza se convirtió en un superclub y la terraza fue crucial para que en el año 99, el club inglés Home negociara con Pepe tomar parte en los domingos del Space, la sesión más fuerte de la discoteca. Los domingos en Space se convirtieron en un maratón de 22 horas, de 8 de la mañana del domingo a 6 de la mañana del lunes, para ofrecer un increíble festival día-noche como jamás se había visto en la isla.
Pasados los años, el club se ha convertido en el más galardonado a nivel mundial, recibiendo premios hasta en este último año (Best Club in the World – DJ Mag 2016). Son numerosos los clubbers, que año tras año, acuden religiosamente a Space. Y de sobra es conocido que la temporada en Ibiza empieza con la apertura del club, y que de igual manera, la temporada en la isla se acaba cuando el club cierra sus puertas.
Llegó la hora.
Hemos cumplido 27 años de historia inolvidables, estamos de acuerdo en que han sabido a poco, pero sabemos que algunos recuerdos permanecerán intactos en la memoria de todos: la legendaria terraza de Space, bailar durante el día, levantar los brazos bajo el rugido de los aviones, las inigualables sesiones de Carl Cox, los domingos en Space… y todos y cada uno de ellos SIEMPRE con la MÚSICA como compañera.
Y bien, ha llegado la hora de celebrar el final de estos 27 años. Algunos han bautizado a este fenómeno como “el fin de una era”, pero nosotros preferimos hablar de nuevos comienzos y horizontes, porque lo que está claro es que la Leyenda empieza aquí:

Carl Cox y Tale Of Us ya han confirmado su set en el que será el último Space Closing Fiesta de la historia. Por supuesto, el line-up para el final de los finales será mágico y a la altura del gran fin de temporada. Próximamente, continuarán confirmándose nombres… mientras tanto, asegura tu hueco en el que será, sin lugar, a dudas el evento que no puedes perderte.
