Welcome to THE ARENA!
The Arena was a venue that occupied a special place in the hearts and minds of those in ancient Rome. It was a place where armed gladiators enthralled audiences, and a venue that was celebrated in high and low art alike—with the value of the gladiators commemorated in precious and commonplace objects throughout the Roman world.
The concept has been reincarnated many times over in the modern world, with Paris, Barcelona, New York, Berlin, London, Sao Paulo and Rome all playing host to more epic gladiatorial show-downs of sorts.
This summer, a new Arena is set to be unleashed, with DJ gladiators and clued-up clubbers aplenty joining forces for a summer war in the arena that is the Vista Club in Ibiza.
The weekly party will take place every Thursday night at the revamped Privilege Club, the Vista Room. We’ll be decking the place out in our own inimitable style, with spectacular production (such as a full-scale movie set with live creatures), introducing our guests to a very impressive environment. As such, the line-ups will also feature some of the globe’s most cutting-edge Djs, not least Dj Sneak, Todd Terry, 2ManyDj’s, Popof, Sebastien Leger, Marc Houle, Marc Romboy, Anja Schneider, Ray Okpara Amine Edge, Kolombo, HNQO, Fabo, Betoko and Karmon. There’ll also be a host of other global superstars who’ll be headlining, with more details about that one set to be announced soon. With so much on the agenda for 2013, Ibiza’s true party lovers will miss this one at their peril.
Created by a French connection that implicates the crowd into the heart of the party, the concept offers a journey into the perils of ancient Rome, offering revelers an intriguing, fancy dress themed spectacle whereby they’ll be encouraged to leave their inhibitions at home.
As the rallying cry goes: “I am Spartacus!”
The clubbing The Arena will be encouraged to dress according to the theme. Accessories will be available at the entrance and distributed during the night. This makes for a collective atmosphere; ensuring revelers always leave with a wide-eyed smile adorning their face. During the events, performers and visuals will also play pivotal roles, while world-class DJs will provide the soundtrack to a night of colour and sense-heightening production.
Photographers and video artists will also capture the crowd and the club during peak moments to generate content for further events and help create a bigger buzz around the party. Ibiza’s Privilege — suitably, the world’s biggest club — is the coliseum (or the ‘arena’ of choice), and it’s here where the island’s carefree spirit will meet head on with an atmosphere lifted straight out of ancient Rome!
And as a result of its ubiquitous press campaigns — not to mention the wild fancy dress and various make-up artists — The Arena concept injects a uniquely interactive element into the acclaimed Vista Room.
