The 3rd issue of Texture will be showcasing one of UK's most interesting and charismatic younger labels. We're happy to present a long night of Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, featuring alongside the two label heads' DJ-Team of the same name another two up-and-coming talents, Denis Sulta and Big Miz. Our resident Zulian will bring his favourite basement-proofed jams to warm-up your head and feet.

Since 2012, Danny Monox' and Kenny Grieve's label Dixon Avenue Basement Jams (DABJ) has been developing as a creative home for mostly hitherto unknown and Scottish producers, tied together through strong bonds of long lasting friendships and the passion for a distinctly raw and funked up sound. The imprint's output has been constantly prolific and loyal to its dictum of quality and consistency, gaining more and more attention beyond the borders of Great Britain. A versatile treatment of acidic elements, emphasised jack rhythms and boldly bouncing but always carefully crafted ghettoish grooves seem to be the basic pillars of DABJ's approach to house and techno. From Marquis Hawke's influential sound alchemy, perfectly combining the mentioned core elements, all the way to the playful, adventurous and devious tracks of the Frenchman VernoN, the Glaswegian label consolidates its infectious formula, surprising its ever growing fanbase with new gems from dedicated artists. Amongst them are Big Miz, who recently put out a debut EP that sounds like a matured masterpiece, and Denis Sulta, who melts highly energetic, punching grooves with intense soulfulness and yearning Disco essences. We're very much looking forward to presenting the Scotch gang of friends and music lovers, bringing the Glaswegian party over to us.
