47soul السبعة و أربعين sind vier großartige Künstler, die aus Palästina, Jordanien und den USA kommen und seit der Bandgründung (2013) auf unzähligen Festivals und in ausverkauften Hallen spielen. Sie präsentiert der Welt ihr eigenes, einzigartiges Genre mit dem Namen „Shamstep“ – eine kraftvolle Mischung aus traditioneller Straßenmusik der „Sham“-Region (Palästina, Libanon, Jordanien, Syrien), elektronischen Beats sowie Einflüssen aus Funk, Hip-Hop und Rock. Auf Melodien, welche schon seit Jahrhunderten durch die arabische Welt schallen, packen 47SOUL analoge Synthesizer-Sounds, hypnotische Gitarren und aufrüttelnde Strophen auf Englisch und Arabisch.
Ihre erste Hit-Single „Intro to Shamstep“ hat bereits über 4.5 Millionen Aufrufe auf Youtube erreicht – und die Zahl steigt schnell weiter. Nun folgt im Herbst 2017 ihr heißerwartetes Debüt-Album ‚Balfron Promise‘. Die Thematik des Albums ist sowohl vom heutigen, modernen London inspiriert, als auch von der teilweise Jahrhunderte alten Politik des Nahen Ostens, welche 47SOUL auch heute noch prägt. Sozial aktuell und lyrisch raffiniert, hat ‚Balfron Promise‘ alle Elemente eines pulsierenden, Grenzen sprengenden Albums, welches musikalische Freiheit verkörpert.
+ Auf Warditas Oriental-Sets spielt sie hauptsächlich arabische (Rai, Dabka, Underground, Pop), türkische, griechische Musik. Wie wir es auch von Warditas anderen musikalischen Stilen kennen, zeichnet sich auch hier ihre Musik durch Vitalität, Lebensfreude und gelungene Schnelligkeit aus.

Blasting and dancing their way through the Arabic music scene, ondon-based 47soul السبعة و أربعين has electrically reshaped the boundaries of contemporary underground music and performance. Their infectious take on Dabke, with piercing synthesised ‘Mijwez’ melodies, dance drums and resonating vocals has rapidly amassed fans around the Arab world, Europe and beyond.
Balfron Promise is 47Soul’s first full-length album, an elaboration on the highly successful 2015 debut EP, ShamStep. This anticipated release expands on the band’s pioneering genre of ShamStep, a profound homage and cultural force that revisits the traditional celebration music omnipresent in Levant area of the Arab world.
Musically & lyrically, Balfron Promise is a product of 47Soul’s three year residency in London, a profoundly unique experience for the four members and their work. The album and themes are inspired by both modern-day London and the 100 year-old politics still influencing 47Soul’s story today. Socially topical and lyrically astute, Balfron Promise, has all the elements of pulsating anti-border, freedom-of-movement music album – presented to you in the form of ShamStep 2.0!
+ Wardita is Berlin-based DJ and producer. Her beat passion goes mainly towards Techno/Minimal-Techno and ElectrOriental. The common factor of all of her styles is that it’s always fast, thumping forward, powerful and kind of freaky. You’ll find the unexpected and won’t ever find anything mainstream in her sets.
